In early October we start hear
Of a round little man with eight tiny reindeer.
As Autumn turns cold and leaves start to fall
We take up our lists and we head to the mall.
The Grinch and Scrooge are all over TV.
While Christmas commercials cry, “Buy me, buy me!”
We’re tired and grouchy from all of the stress
And the whole house seems to be one Christmas mess.
Too much to do and too little time
Will find a calm person starting to whine.
Put up the lights, mail the cards, wrap the gifts.
You soon start to ask, “What’s the meaning of this?”
But just when it seems that there’s too much to do
The day finally comes when the frenzy is through.
In the still of the morning, before the sunrise
We quietly turn and open our eyes.
We send a quick prayer to heaven above.
Thanking God for His great gift of love.
We sing Christmas carols, praising the birth
Of the small little boy that God sent to Earth.
The church bells ring and we raise our voices
“Emmanuel’s here!” the whole world rejoices.
At Christmas time please take the time to recall
That God’s gift of Jesus is the greatest of all.
Celebrate Christmas in all that you do.
Remember that God sent His son here for you.
Angels are singing in one accord.
Joy to the world! He is born! Praise the Lord!
