Adoration
By Judith Shields Regini
In the hush of evening, with Joseph standing near,
Came sweet and gentle cooing sounds to the listening ear.

Mary stayed right by His side as night turned into day.
She gazed upon Him lovingly, the child upon the hay.

Wise men came to find the boy, bringing myrrh and gold.
Shepherds followed through the night to see the one foretold.

People gathered near the place where little Jesus lay.
O Come Let Us Adore Him!” was the anthem of the day.

One bright star had lead them to the manger in the stall,
Where God’s small Son had come to birth, a Savior to us all.

Angel choirs announced the news, that brilliant Christmas morn.
“Alleluia! Gloria! Jesus Christ is born!”

Lift your voices Heavenward in praise to Christ the King,
And join the joyful chorus as the herald angels sing!

Merry Christmas – Christ is Born!
