I am obsessed, as you probably know,
with the idea of Christmas day.
I love Christmas movies with their obvious endings.
and I love Scrooge, too, by the way!
The wonderful songs that we learned as a child
Still thrill me whenever I hear.
Rudolph is leading the sleigh with great pride
And the silver bells still ringing clear.
As I wrap packages specially picked
For someone I love with my heart.
I say Christmas prayers for their happiness, too,
In the new year that’s soon to start.
But the happy and sappy Christmas movies
The songs and the beautiful tree
Can’t help but remind me why all of it started
A beautiful life, soon to be.
They left their home and traveled so far
To get to Bethlehem.
Tired and hungry, the keeper assured them
There was no room in the inn.
That night there was no grand castle waiting
Not even a small simple place.
Instead, they were sent to the stable next door
Where they found a suitable space.
There in the night a miracle happened,
One that would change humankind.
Mary gave birth to a King that night
And His story began to unwind.
The beautiful mother, the strong handsome father,
and the little one in the hay.
Bring hope to the world as we gather together
And celebrate each Christmas day.
I hope that this Christmas finds you happy
And surrounded with those that you love.
Remember God loved you - so very much -
That he sent his Son down from above.
Joy to the world! The Lord is Come!
