Was there a time when Mother Mary
went to Bethlehem?
Was there a night when someone said
there was no room within?
Was there a day when Christ was born
as Joseph stood nearby?
And was he awed as God’s great gift
first gave a little cry?
Was there a night when brilliant stars
lit up the evening sky?
And were there shepherds guided to the
manger from nearby?
Was there a time when kings would
bow before a little boy?
and did they bring him precious gifts
in hopes to bring him joy?
Was there a night when angel voices
sang of royal birth?
And did their songs tell of God’s gift
to all mankind on earth?
Is there a time in all the year
when we recall that night?
And do we sing as angels did
and fill our worlds with light?
We celebrate our savior’s birth
each year with hearts of joy.
hope that none will soon forget
God’s precious little boy.
