Days and nights had come and gone
and Sunday morning dawned.
Grief and anguish filled their hearts.
Happiness had gone.
They heard a murmur in the town.
People spoke of Him.
Something wondrous? Something great?
Suddenly a din!
The crowd grew quiet; excitement grew.
The ladies told them there.
The tomb is empty. Jesus lives!
No reason for despair!
They gathered at the tomb to see
That no one was inside.
Then they knew it was the truth
The Son of God – alive!
There followed days of happiness
The quiet upper room.
God had raised his son from death
Ended all the gloom.
Every Easter we relive the pain
Good Friday brings.
And Every Sunday we rejoice
As everybody sings.
Christ has risen! Alleluia!
Joyous voices sing.
Sing his praises! Alleluia!
Christ, Redeemer, King!
