When I was a child, I just couldn’t wait for the thrill of a new Christmas day.
We waited all night, hardly sleeping at all, listn’ing for Santa’s big sleigh.
In the wee early hours each Christmas morn, we would creep and look under the tree.
This one’s for you and this one’s for her and this one right here is for me!
As I grew older, I started to see that the gifts Santa brought Christmas Eve
Were nothing compared to what God gave to us each when He first asked us all to believe.
He wasn’t a gift wrapped in colorful paper. He didn’t have bright, colored bows.
He wasn’t awaiting us under the tree. He didn’t have beautiful clothes.
In the still of the night as the townspeople slept, a beautiful thing occurred.
They didn’t expect it and all were surprised, excitedly spreading the word.
In Bethlehem town, a miracle happened, and all were excited to know
This blessed event was such an occurrence that even kings came to behold.
This infant, so tiny, was born in a stall, where animals lived, near the inn.
He slept in a manger with hay for a bed; swaddling clothes, wrapped in.
His mother sat near Him, with love in her heart and maybe a little fear.
His father stood by and watched all with wonder, and quietly shed a tear.
This baby king would grow to a man and rule heaven and all of the nations.
His life would be reason to fill all the world with jubilant celebrations.
This boy was life to the world then and now; we praise Him still today.
We recall His blessed birth at this time of year and happily sing His praise.
We still get excited to hear Christmas songs and to see the bright lights on the tree.
We watch Christmas shows and we gather in love with those that we most love to see.
I hope every Christmas we always remember, how Jesus Christ came to the earth.
While opening packages, singing sweet songs, never forget His birth.
Joy to the World! The Lord IS Come!
Let Earth Receive Her King!!!
