They moved along the darkened road approaching Bethlehem.
She was tired, so was he; looking forward to the inn.
The town was full and crowded, as they drew up near the place.
“No room,” he said, and there they stood, exhaustion on their faces.

He looked around and saw a stable, near to where they stood.
It wasn’t great, this cold, dark place, but it would be good.
Mary climbed down, found a bed, resting on the hay.
Soon would come the world’s first and most important day.

In the night, the shepherds saw a bright and shining star.
Angels sang of wondrous birth and told them to go far.
They left their herds to find the child from the angel’s song.
Following the star’s bright light, they knew where they belonged.

Soon they came upon the stable, in the town of Bethlehem.
They entered and they fell prostrate, at the feet of those within.
Mary, sitting near a manger, stroked the baby’s face.
Joseph, standing near the two, smiled around the place.

Baby Jesus, woke and saw the shepherds standing there.
His eyes shined bright as he heard angel music in the air.
The star’s bright light shone through the door and turned night into day.
Kings bowed down before the Child who rested in the hay.

The whole world changed and God’s love shone in that wondrous night.
His only Son, born in the dark, made the world seem bright.
Angels and the townsfolk sang a happy, joyful song.
The Messiah resting there was right where He belonged.

Every year, as we celebrate the happy Christmas season.
I hope we stop along the way remembering the reason.
Joy to the World! The Lord is Come!
Let earth receive her King!

Merry Christmas and I hope you have an amazing 2026.
